The cover on this remarkable product is actually twice as thick as our normal heavy duty covers, and offers the same heat-sealed edge. The cover has two grommets located at the top of the pad for ease of storage by hanging. As an Additional aid, these covers have both a horizontal and vertical line (croos-hair centering) running the entire length and width, showing the exact center of the pads where they intersect. The intersecting lines make positioning the patient a much simpler and less time consuming task. Cover is 20 mil, blue vinyl.

In some instances, the optional covering and ultrafoam options may present artifacting issues when using the positioners for imaging applications. Please note scan coat coverings can NOT be used in CT applications. Depending on technique, it may be possible to work around artifact issues, as they typically appear along the edges of the positioning device. If the positioner is placed such that the edges are not in the field of view, artifacting may be avoided. Please note artifacting is most likely to occur for images below 70 KvP. For images above 70 KvP the edges are less obvious and may not present a problem. If you are concerned with artifacting, please select the uncovered, standard foam positioner option.
